Every time I look at my feet I am amazed by the results of the surgery. It’s unbelievable what modern medicine can do. I’ve already noticed that I can balance much better on the “new” foot.
Yesterday, I went swimming for the first time since the surgery. I thought my foot and ankle might be sore when I kicked my legs but they weren’t at all. I was able to lap swim, water jog & do everything else I did before surgery…it was great!!
Hi Dana, I am so glad you are doing so well. There is a dramatic difference in your feet pictures. I know you will be glad when it is all over. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes, I can't wait to be all done. My balance has improved so much with just one foot...I can't even imagine how good it will be once both feet are done. You guys have a great Thanksgiving too!

ReplyDeleteGlad everything is going so well for you, it makes me feel a whole lot better about the road ahead! I have finally got myself of the medication I was on. I had a really bad week where I couldn't eat because I felt so sick all the time and I had the most awful headaches. I knew this was a side effect of the meds so I thought it best to come off them. I had a few days where I didn't feel too good, I think was my body telling me I needed the tablets, it's easy to get addicted to them! But I got through it and I am feeling much better now i'm off them, I have no aches or pains in my foot and it isn't feeling as uncomfortable as it was, yey! I will be so glad to get this cast off, my next hospital appointment is 12th December. I can't wait to get my foot out! I feel like I have been in this cast and on these crutches for much longer than a month!

ReplyDeleteI was just thinking of you today and wondering how you were feeling...so glad to hear you are doing well!
I know how you feel, I remember when I couldn't wait to get out of the cast.
A word of caution...don't try to walk around too much when you are first allowed to walk on a walking cast boot. I think I over did it the first week and I really suffered for it. I even had to go back on the meds for a couple of days. It was very disappointing. I'll make sure to take it easier this time around.
I over did it a little this last weekend, too. I was finishing up my Christmas shopping and having too much fun! It's so easy to overdo! So I've been staying off my foot and icing it for the most part today. Ice really works wonders.
